Prosecutors: Prostitute killed client after learning he had STD

CHICAGO, IL - A prostitute shot a client to death when their sexual encounter was interrupted by a woman banging at the man’s door, claiming he’d given her a sexually transmitted disease, prosecutors allege. Ashley Nicole Steele, 21, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Derrick Gray, 40, on Feb. 4 in the 8200 block of South Langley Avenue. On Wednesday, Steele was denied bond and a preliminary hearing was set for April 26, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said. Steele, a prostitute, had arranged to meet Gray at his home to have sex. The two went into his bedroom but came out a few minutes later when Gray heard a knock at the door, prosecutors said. He got dressed to see who it was, leaving both Steele and another person, identified as a witness, in the home. A woman was at the door screaming at Gray and pounding on the door. At that point, Steele grabbed a handgun from a table and put it in her waistband, court records said. Steele went to the door and the woman said Gray had given her herpes. The woman also showed Steele text messages Gray sent her, apologizing that he’d given her an STD, according to court records. The woman at the door and the witness told police Steele began pacing back and forth, saying she was going to kill and rob Gray. She then heard the front door open and hid. Gray came out and Steele popped out with the gun. He pleaded with her, offered her money and then ran to a bedroom, court records said. She followed him and shot at him through the door, striking him once. She then opened the door and shot him two more times. He suffered gunshot wounds to the head, body and arms, prosecutors allege. Steele then fled out a window with the gun to a car that was waiting for her. The driver took her to a Wal-Mart where she bought clothes, shoes, bleach, gloves and a baby bath tub, court records show. She was taken to another location where she changed clothes and scrubbed the gun with bleach in the tub. Steele allegedly stuffed the gun and other items into several garbage bags and was driven to Calumet City, where she put them in various Dumpsters. Gray was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said. Steele was arrested Tuesday in the 4700 block of South Langley, police said. She was identified by the witness as the one who shot Gray and video surveillance from Wal-Mart showed her buying the items used to clean evidence.

This is one tough hooker, huh? But you know what? I can't really blame her. The dude is screwing chicks and giving 'em herpes. That shit ain't right. Once you get herpes or AIDS, I say the only people you're allowed to fuck after that are other people with the same diseases.

In then end, I guess Derrick Gray got what he wanted - he got fucked.

Deadspin is reporting that Brandon Meriweather allegedly shot two people outside a house party on February 27 in Apopka, Florida. No arrests have been made yet, so these are all just allegations right now. But I wonder, if it's true, does that give Meriweather two more hits for the year? Just a thought....

Beer pong argument led to Cantonment shooting
A Pensacola man is suspected in a shooting that happened Sunday in Cantonment. Zachary Wilson, 21, of the 800 block of North 48th Avenue is accused of shooting Brian Keith Cantwell, 20, of Cantonment in the face during an argument, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said. Cantwell was taken to West Florida Hospital to be treated for his injury. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening. The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 1300 block of Tate Road. "They were at a house party betting on a game of beer pong when the argument broke out," Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Chris Welborn said. Deputies were unable to locate Wilson after the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office has applied for an arrest warrant charging Wilson with aggravated battery.
